My first Mixed Media Canvas

Hello again so here's my Second Project for That Craft Place

Theme is No Cards

At one time i use to dread any challenges where it wasn't make a card!! But now i really love to do them as you can just sit and play & get messy with glue, texture paste, inks & paints etc.

So this is the first time i have ever done a Mixed Media Canvas & i thoroughly enjoyed it and i hope you like it too!!

Firstly i primed the Canvas with Gesso and left to dry.
Next i started sticking down tissue paper with a multi surface primer from That Craft Place Ltd as it acts like a glue. Very messy this part but so good creating all those creases and folds.
Once dry paint over with Gesso again.

Once the Gesso is dry i applied some texture paste through stencils. Next start placing diecuts & other things onto the canvas and once your happy with it glue them down again with the multi surface primer.
I forgot to take a photo of it before i painted another coat of Gesso all over it to seal it ready for painting. (sorry)

Now it's the Fun & Messy part!!!
The next photo is just me painting on watered down perfect pearls & already it is coming to life.

Next i used Dylusions Sprays & Deco Art Sprays.

I am showing this next photo because all i did was add a new spray i bought this week from Docrafts Artiste Spritzing Ink. I couldn't believe how good that gold is and how it changed the look of it all!!!

Lastly i added some metal embellishments what i didn't want lot's of colour on and the MDF light bulb. I Dry brushed the die cuts and embellishments to make them stand out more and added some Inka Gold in various colours.

Here it is all finished!!

and a couple of close ups to see the texture better.
Some of the DT asked me how i made the flower at the top left but i hadn't thought of it as a flower until they said. What it is is a fan from an old computer what my hubby was taking apart and i pinched it!! lol

The pipes at the sides are just Paper Straws with seed beads and micro beads what have been mixed together in a pot with the multi surface primer and applied to the straws.

All Dylusions Sprays, Docraft Spritzer, Ink Golds, Multi Surface Primer, Gesso, Dies, MDF Cogs & MDF Light Bulb are from That Craft Place Ltd

Please pop over to That Craft Place Blog to see the rest of the makes by the DT.

Hope i haven't bored you with all the photo's as i wanted to try and show you how i made it.

It's time for a new Challenge

It's time for a new Challenge at That Craft Place

 Theme is "No Cards"

I have Two projects to show you so i have done them in two individual posts on my blog as there are a few photo's to go along with each project.

For my 1st project I have used an MDF To Do board kit made by That Craft Place Ltd

Firstly i gave it all a coat of Multi surface primer & then applied texture paste through some stencils & also with my fingers.

Next i coated it all in Black Acrylic Paint

Now the fun part where you get to add the colour!
I dry brushed all the frame in various colours of Acrylic Paint & then to the raised bits i added various colours of Inka Gold with my fingers. I so love doing this bit as it's messy and it brings it to life!!

Next i glued it all together and then did some matting and layering in each frame.
Finally i added a note book to each frame for my To Do & Done lists.
Here it is all finished.

Here's a close up of the top of the frame so you can see that lovely colour & texture.

Altered Artist Paint Palette

Good Morning you lovely Crafter's
Hope all is well in your Crafting World.

Today is the start of a new Challenge over at That Craft Place

Theme is Alter Something.

I bought this Grey Board Artist Palette from That Craft Place Ltd

I only wanted the word "Art" & some extra Splats so Lisa the owner from That Craft Place Ltd was happy to cut just that for me as this is her own design & will cut just about anything you want.

I started by sealing the grey board with Gesso.
Next i applied texture paste through stencils and left to dry.
Once dry i used my Deco Art Spray Paints.

But guess what i wasn't happy with it so i left it for a few weeks & came back to it with a new idea!!

I painted it all Black & Sprayed a little Dylusions Sprays in green & pink.
This time i like it so i continued!! lol

Next i applied acrylic paints in various colours by dry brushing it over the texture parts.
Next i used Alt Gold in similar colours to the paint, i applied this with my finger so it didn't go onto the other colours. Then buffed it with a cloth to make it shimmer & shine.

Next it was time to add Embellishments

I also used the Grey Board Paintbrushes from TCP

  Here it is all finished

Here's a few close ups of the texture & embellishments

Hope i haven't bore you too much with all the photo's.
