Rock is Dead?

Yeahhhh it's time for a New Challenge at That Craft Place

Theme is a nice easy one "Anything Goes"

I LOVE this theme because i get to play about with my new love of Altered Art and i don't have to worry about how i am going to do things too much. lol

I decide to have a play about with this 12"x12" MDF Laser Cut Set

So here's what i did to it ( a bit picture heavy)

Firstly i gave it all a coat of Gesso to seal the wood ready for the Texture Paste & Paints.  Next I used Texture Paste through stencils and left to dry.

Next i painted the Frame in a Bright Pink Acrylic
(Yes it was very Bright lol)

Then i dry brushed the frame with lots of other colour Acrylic Paints.
Next i applied Ink Gold in Magenta, Turquoise & Yellow Gold with my finger tips to the Raised up bits what i had created with the texture paste.

Here's a few close ups of the texture bits because they really do shine with the Inka Gold

Next i painted the MDF Back Board in bright Turquoise Acrylic Paint and dry brushed with a Light Blue & White.
Then I did some stencilling.

Then Lastly the letters were painted pink & dry brushed on the edges with white.

And here it is all finished!!

I have included a close up of the scissors because i used the Inka Golds on them because the Scissors were just to shiny silver so i wanted them toned down.
You can just see the three colours on the scissors. ( I just love how the Inka Gold  can change the look of things)

Phewwwww that was a bit picture heavy so i hope i haven't bored you too much.

All items used including the Scissors are from That Craft Place Ltd

Yikes it's a Monochrome Challenge!!

Happy New Year Crafting People!!
Let's hope it's a good & healthy one for everyone!!

It's time for the 1st Challenge of 2015 at That Craft Place Blog

Challenge Theme is Monochrome

Yikes i really do struggle with Monochrome with having to use just one colour but in different shades!!

Here's the card i came up with using Shades of Blues

Image is Butterfly Baby from Saturated Canary

I used me new Star Banner Die by Marianne Designs
The Sentiment is a Rubber Stamp from a set by That Craft Place Ltd
I used Cosmic Shimmers Lunar White Embossing

Here's a close up of the image

I coloured the image with Copics
As soon as i find the colours i will write them on here but it appears they are missing and i think my Kitten is to blame for that!! He sits on my desk with me while i craft and sometimes plays with bits of paper while i make the cards! lol

All items used are from That Craft Place Ltd including Copics and the Amazing Super Smooth card the image is coloured on.

Keep Out!!! lol

I made this altered Door Hanger a few weeks ago but forgot to put it on my blog.

I bought the blank door hanger what comes with the "Keep Out" & Skull & Crossbones from That Craft Place Ltd

First i painted a layer of Gesso to seal the MDF.
Next i painted it with Tim Holtz Distress Paint Daubers in Broken China. (2coats of paint were needed)
Once dry i used the Cob Web Stencil & some Modelling Paste and used it in random places.
Once this dries i dry brushed the stencilled parts with Tim Holtz Black Soot then added Inka Gold randomly in Lime Green & Pink.

Then i added some Cheesecloth , digital images i cut out and 2 furry spiders and lastly the Skull & Crossbone & The "Keep Out".

The Skull & Crossbone & "Keep Out" were covered in Stampendous Frantage - Aged Marine
Cosmic Shimmer - Vintage Lunar White & Tarnished Silver

Here's a couple of close up photo's to show the detail clearer.

I love how it adds lot's of texture!

Heart Art Tag

This was a first for me,
Making something so small but when i saw it i had to have it because it had a Heart on it!! lol

Measuring just under 12cm high x 8cm wide it was tiny!!!

For such a small project i certainly used a lot of Products but it was so much fun!
I painted it with Tim Holtz Distress Paint Daubers in a few colours.
I used Inka Gold in a Lime Green

Here's a photo so far.

Then i used Modelling Paste through a Circle Stencil and waited for that to dry.
Next i dry brushed with paint & then added Inka Gold with my Finger.
Added a Die Cut heart underneath the Greyboard heart.

Here it is all finished!
I really love how it turned out.

The verse is a Rubber Stamp from a Set by Personal Impressions.

All items used including the Art Tag can be bought from my all time Favourite Shop.
